Dr. Jeremy Wetzel is an experienced and exacting hair transplant surgeon, and oversees the Atlanta location of Anderson Center for Hair. Dr. Wetzel’s residency training was in neurosurgery at the Emory University School of Medicine. With expertise in advanced hair restoration techniques, he plays an essential role in delivering the high standard of care that defines our practice, providing patients with exceptional, personalized results.
ABOUT DR. WETZEL
Dr. Jeremy Wetzel is a respected member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and is on track for board eligibility in 2025. He started his academic career with an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Wetzel earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, where he scored in the 99% percentile for his USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams. He spent seven years at Emory University School of Medicine in the neurosurgery residency program, concluding in 2020. During his time at Emory, Dr. Wetzel was involved with various research projects focused on nerve regeneration, gene therapy, and the development of animal models for studying neurological conditions. These investigations aimed to advance scientific understanding, develop potential treatments, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Wetzel entered the field of hair restoration surgery in 2020 and performed his first hair transplant surgeries in that same year under the mentorship of Dr. Ken Anderson. He also contributed as a surgical consultant for bio-therapeutics companies performing preclinical large animal studies to develop neural stem cell and gene therapies to treat neurological disorders. After nearly three years as a part-time associate, Dr. Wetzel joined Anderson Center for Hair full-time in 2022 as a dedicated hair transplant surgeon, bringing his surgical expertise and commitment to excellence in achieving outstanding patient outcomes and results.

During his time in medical school, Dr. Wetzel’s dedication and talent were acknowledged through several prestigious awards and honors. He received the Distinguished Student in the Neurosciences Award in 2013 for his academic achievements and contributions to the field. Additionally, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Delta Chapter of Texas – a distinction reserved for top-performing medical students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to professionalism.
Dr. Wetzel was also awarded the NIH/NINDS Medical Student Summer Research Award, which supported his early research efforts and helped lay the foundation for his career in advancing medical science and improving patient outcomes.
