RUSS YOUNGBLOOD’S JOURNEY
Arrival and Lunch Selection: Upon arrival at Anderson Center for Hair, Russ’ journey begins with the simple choice of lunch, setting a tone of care and personal attention right from the start.
Consent Video and Discussion: Russ watches an informative consent video, providing a clear overview of the procedure. Dr. Anderson then joins to answer any questions, ensuring Russ feels fully informed and comfortable before signing the consent forms.
Â
Vital Checks: The medical team conducts a routine check of Russ’ vitals, establishing a baseline health status to ensure he’s ready for the procedure.
Â
Blood Draw for PRP: Blood is drawn for the preparation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). A technician processes the blood in a centrifuge to be used later in the procedure.
Â
Photographic Documentation: Dr. Anderson captures a series of detailed photographs of Russ’ scalp. These images will serve as important reference points throughout the hair restoration journey.
Â
Hairline Discussion and Decision: Russ and Dr. Anderson thoroughly discuss the ideal hairline. This step is crucial for achieving a look that aligns with Russ’ expectations.
Â
Hairline Marking: With a surgical marker, Dr. Anderson carefully marks out the agreed-upon hairline on Russ’ scalp. This outline acts as a guide throughout the procedure.
Â
Preparatory Haircut: Russ’ hair is carefully trimmed to expose the donor area in preparation for the follicle extraction part of the FUE process.
Â
Donor Area Mapping: Next, Dr. Anderson maps the donor area of Russ’ scalp, marking each section to ensure an even distribution of graft extraction.
Â
Surgical Hair Wash: Russ’ scalp is washed with a special surgical shampoo, minimizing infection risks and preparing the scalp for the procedure.
Â
Scalp Anesthesia: Anesthesia is applied to the back of Russ’ scalp, ensuring a pain-free experience during the follicle extraction.
Â
Initial Follicle Extraction: Dr. Anderson uses a biopsy punch to extract a single follicle, then measures its length. This initial extraction helps determine the necessary depth for the subsequent recipient site incisions.
Â
Front Scalp Anesthesia: Anesthesia is then administered to the front of the scalp, preparing Russ for the PRP injections and site creation.
Â
PRP Injections: The processed platelet-rich plasma is injected into Russ’ scalp, utilizing the growth factors within the platelets to enhance the healing and growth of the transplanted follicles.
Â
Site Creation by Dr. Anderson: Next, Dr. Anderson creates the sites in the recipient area. He chooses the direction and angle the hair will grow at the time the incision is made, ensuring natural-looking hair growth that looks like it’s always been there and not like someone put it back.
Â
Follicle Extraction with WAW FUE Device: The WAW FUE device is used to extract the necessary number of follicles to correspond to the number of sites made. This technique ensures minimal scarring and optimal graft quality.
Â
Follicle Placement by Technicians: A team of skilled technicians carefully trims and places each follicle into the sites created by Dr. Anderson. Up to three technicians place grafts on a patient at a time to minimize the time the follicles spend outside of the head.
