Dr. Ken Anderson Appointed as Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at Emory University School of Medicine

Ken Anderson, MD, founder of Anderson Center for Hair, has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at Emory University’s Department of Dermatology. This appointment comes as a formalization of an ongoing collaboration where Dr. Anderson has played an integral role in advancing the education of future dermatologists.

In his new role, Dr. Anderson will contribute extensively to the dermatology residency training program, shaping the future of dermatological education with his expertise in hair loss and restoration.

The appointment comes on the heels of a year-long collaboration during which Dr. Anderson hosted physicians from Emory’s Dermatology Department. The collaboration has been further enriched by the inclusion of Dr. Jeremy Wetzel of the Anderson Center for Hair, as well as a newly developed initiative in which resident physicians and attending physicians from Emory will rotate through the Anderson Center for Hair, observing a wide array of surgical and non-surgical procedures under the guidance of Dr. Anderson and his team. These experiences will include real-time discussions about procedure indications, techniques, limitations, and potential complications.

“I am truly honored to rejoin Emory University School of Medicine in this new capacity,” said Dr. Anderson, who pioneered FUE hair transplant surgery worldwide. “It’s an exciting opportunity to blend academic excellence with clinical expertise to inspire the next generation of dermatologists.”

In addition to performing surgical procedures, Dr. Anderson will lead the clinical team of physicians in patient consultations, offering a comprehensive review of clinical presentations and sharing his specialized knowledge on the intricacies of hair loss and its treatments, encompassing regenerative medicine techniques.

Dr. Anderson’s return to Emory marks a full circle in his distinguished career. Recruited in 2008 to establish the hair restoration surgery program at Emory, Dr. Anderson later founded the Anderson Center for Hair, achieving recognition for pioneering advanced treatments for hair loss.

Residents and faculty from Emory will benefit from exposure to cutting-edge hair restoration technologies, including bio-enhanced FUE and FUT surgeries, PRP, stem cell treatments, and low-level laser therapies. In addition, Dr. Anderson will deliver Grand Rounds presentations at Emory, disseminating knowledge about hair restoration’s fundamentals and the latest innovations.
