Dr. Wetzel’s journey into the field of hair restoration is marked by rigorous training and mentorship under Dr. Ken Anderson at the American Academy of Hair Restoration Surgery. Here, he mastered the Anderson methods, a meticulous approach that marries art and science to produce the most natural-looking hair restoration outcomes. His adaptability and skill have seamlessly integrated into our team’s dynamic, contributing to our mission of providing superior patient care.

Dr. Wetzel’s academic credentials are impressive. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, engaging in research that spanned nerve regeneration, gene therapy, and the creation of animal models for neurological study. His research endeavors were aimed at pushing the boundaries of medical science to enhance patient care and treatment options.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, Dr. Wetzel achieved exceptional scores, landing in the 99th percentile for both his USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams. His academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin, setting the stage for his successful career in medicine.

Dr. Wetzel’s professional excellence has been consistently recognized. He was awarded the Resident Research Presentation Award at the GNS 2017 Fall Meeting. During his medical school years, he was honored with the Distinguished Student in the Neurosciences Award in 2013, inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha, Delta Chapter of Texas, and received the NIH/NINDS Medical Student Summer Research Award.
